Exam preparation is built into your regular one-to-one lessons — there is no need to book separately. When you tell us you are aiming for a grade we build a tailored plan covering every part of the syllabus and run mock exam conditions in the weeks before your exam date.

We prepare students for all three major UK guitar exam boards
Rockschool (RSL)
The UK’s leading contemporary music exam board. Grades Debut to Grade 8 covering rock, pop, blues and funk styles. Widely recognised by music colleges and universities. Our Chichester group lessons use the Rockschool syllabus.
Trinity College London
International exam board offering a broad flexible syllabus covering classical, acoustic and contemporary guitar. Trinity grades are recognised by many schools as contributing toward GCSE and A-Level music. We prepare students from Initial through Grade 8.
RGT (Registry of Guitar Tutors)
The guitar-specialist exam board with grades designed specifically for acoustic, electric, bass and classical guitar. RGT has a strong practical focus and is popular with students who want a dedicated guitar qualification. We prepare students at all RGT levels.

What Grades Can We Prepare You For?
Debut / Initial / Grade 1–2
Perfect for younger learners or beginners who have been playing 6–18 months. We focus on building the right technique and confidence before the exam.
Grade 3–5
The intermediate grades where most students spend the most time. We structure lessons around the specific requirements of your chosen board with regular mock exam run-throughs.
Grade 6–8
Advanced preparation for students pursuing higher grades. We work on performance quality, sight-reading, aural tests and supporting theory knowledge.
