Guitar Academy brings its award-winning Petersfield tuition to Chichester — small groups, structured Rockschool progression, and the same brilliant tutors.
We are now excited to expand into Chichester with a brand-new programme. Unlike our Petersfield branch, which offers both private and group tuition, the Chichester service is dedicated exclusively to small-group guitar lessons. Using the world-renowned Rockschool method, these sessions give students the chance to learn in a structured, progressive way while also developing teamwork, confidence, and social skills.

Group Lessons
Since September 2025 we have been helping groups of students develop their playing skills as well as have fun socialising. Group lessons are a great way to progress faster learning the Guitar. All lessons are about playing, developing communication skills and developing skills playing together as musicians.

4:30pm Beginners (Debut) Ages 7–11
Best for: Kids who are brand new or have a little experience and are ready to start structured progress.
Open for complete beginners!
You’ll learn from the ground up:
Names of parts of the guitar, how to tune (or how to check tuning)
Simple one-string / two-string riffs
Basic strumming feel (downstrokes, simple patterns)
Easy chord shapes and clean fretting (no buzzing)
Not needed: Prior lessons, confident chord changes, reading music.
5:10pm — Beginners (Grade 1) — Ages 7–11
Best for: Students who have started a little.
You have some experience in the following:
Holding the guitar
reading TAB
Playing a few basic tunes
Some open position chords.
5:50pm — Beginners (Grade 1) — Ages 7 – 11
Best for: Students who have started a little.
You have some experience in the following:
Holding the guitar
reading TAB
Playing a few basic tunes
Some open position chords.
6:30pm — Beginners (Grade 1) — Ages 17+
Best for: Adults/older learners who are beginners but ready for a structured “proper start.”
You should be able to (or will learn quickly):
Play a few simple chords/riffs (even if slow)
Keep a steady pulse with guidance
Use tab/diagrams to follow parts
Do basic picking/strumming with some control
Not needed: Barre chords, speed, lead playing experience.
7:10pm — Intermediate (Grade 4 – 5) — Ages 17+
Best for: Players who are past beginner stage and want more challenge, tighter performance skills, and more musical control.
You should already be comfortable with:
Playing full songs with consistent timing (or close!)
Faster chord changes + more chord types (including some barre/power chord work)
Riffs across multiple strings and basic lead lines
Changing between sections smoothly (verse/chorus/bridge)
Likely to include: More detailed technique (muting, dynamics, articulation), more demanding rhythms, longer sections to remember, and playing more confidently with others.
